Going Camping, help please!

My wife and I are leaving Des moines Iowa on October 9th and our final destination is Lowes Motor Speedway on the 13th. After that we are due back in Des Moines on the 19th. My delema is what would be fun to due on the way there and on the way back. I will be pulling our Camper with us as well. We intend on camping all of the way down and back. I am in my fourtys and enjoy a wide variety of things to do. Any places to see or things to do that wouldn't be too far off of our route? We are planning on seeing Graceland and have been to Gatlingburg Tenn already.
Any suggestions? Thanks alot!!!

In TN there are all kinds of Civil War battle sites. They are really facinating to go to. It might sound boring, but trust me when you study these battle sites, and take a few tours, learn what happened there and the sacrafices in human life the war caused on both sides you will walk away a different man. GREAT STUFF!

There's the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. An amazing house, built in the 1890s, but had a sort of air conditioning and some other high-tech innovations for the day.

Jack Daniel's in Lynchburg, TN has pretty funny old codgers for tour guides.

Come a little north

Maybe out of your way, but man you got to come to Maryland/DE. We have some awsome crabs/crab cakes. Elkneck state park is a nice place to camp. You can also see some amish country around the corner. Just my 2 cents. Be safe

Hike up to the Chimney Tops, it is an awsome walk and and even more awsome view once on the top. Klingmans Dome is a nice hike too.
