I love the CTD I now own, but for 9 years I had a 7.3 with BDP injectors added an I/C, intake, exhaust etc and in it's time it was a good truck... I wouldn't touch the new ones. BP.

If it wasn't so tragic that'd be funny.

at least I wasn't the only one who laughed at that feature

but ya, I do feel sorry for the guys that support their families hotshotting ... no good to spend 50K on a vehicle you feed your little ones with, only to have it let you down to the point you can't find work, then no one is going to want them so you're going to loose your butt on the resale value ... I'm a MOPAR guy and I'm lucky enough to have the CTD in our trucks, I feel sorry for those Blue Oval guys right now ... rivalry aside.

Guy I work with said one of his neighbors is only getting around 10 mpg out of his 6.4 running empty. I figured it was because it's a F450. Maybe not huh.

Actually it's pretty sad. People that are depending on the trucks for work and to make money are being singled out due to the vehicle's reliability.
I'm not bashing Ford but I think some of Ford's upper management needs to stomped into a mudhole for letting it get this far.

Don't feel bad for them at all. After you convoy with a Ford and out of the kindness of you heart you stay and help get the poor guys horses and trailer off the side of the road taking 6-7hrs burning your fuel and the poor slob still wants to buy a new one that is a 6.4. This is a classic example of Stupid is as Stupid Does....... Needless to say I will not ever convoy with a Ford again, period.

Is it just me or are the Ford owners hypersensitive to this stuff? I mean when they bag on Dodges, I don't feel the need to start a flame war, why bother?

Yeah, they get real upset...then they whip out the "best selling" comment in an attempt to justify their remarks. They may have the best truck, but they don't have and haven't had the best diesel or a candidate for quite a while now.

Remember the saying "go to the grill and your problem is already circled". I'll let you take care of the ... tailgate inspection..

I have never been brand loyal! I had fords for a long time 2 7.3 and they were good trucks but then I went to the 6.0 (2005) and after 45000 miles that was all I could stand!
So far I like the dodge much better with the exception of the lack of integrated brakes like the 05 ford.
Sure hope the tranny holds up!!!

Getting owned by Dodges all day must make em' sensitive.
After I fixed all the crap that was wrong with the fuel system on this truck of mine it has been the best rig I've ever had.
325K on my clock, and it starts better than any ford I've ever tryed.
(P.S.I like fords too, they just are about 2nd on my list)
