I talked to Pacbrake directly, the high idle feature does not work with the EB. It will disengage as soon as it notices rpm increase. It is designed this way so any throttle response will disengage the brake. At least on the autos not sure for the manuals. I called them directly for this issue as the EB will disengage as soon the auto high idle(1000rpm) or manual high idle(1100rpm) is activated on my truck. Was told it was a safety issue.

Well that is silly. If the OE system allow for it then any aftermarket system should as well. I can't increase the rpm's with my foot, but the fast idle is not an issue, assuming the coolant is below 180*. Just another reason to buy the OEM brake.

it works fine with the pacbrake.
the ecm still controls the solenoid activation for the brake. regardless of the vendor or the actuation method.
i've had my pacbrake for 4 years now.. works great on the automatic high idle
AND the cruise control high idle. allows my brake to stay on from 800 to 1100rpm. once you set the idle over 1100, it kicks the brake off.
when temp hits 170* the brake goes off. once you touch the throttle, the brake goes off.

Right, I realize that. Technically, the exhaust brake is providing a load, otherwise the concept of a brake wouldn't be true. It's just not loading the motor in a manner to build boost.

I have tried several times. Both the auto and manual high idle. Thats was the reason for phoning pacbrake direct. Did they have auto trannies or manual? It would be nice to find out for sure, but according to pacbrake it won't. Everything else works great.

Not sure... I wonder if it hooked up correctly. I think at least one had a manual tranny.

From 300* to 650*, depending on how warm the engine is, etc... I would say normal idle normal EGT EB on is 400*, and fast idle is 550*, and 1100 is 600*

My PacBrake works when it is at auto high idle. I have never had a hiccup out of the brake. It shuts off when just the slightest amount of pressure is applied to the accellerator. I wouldn't tow what I do without the PacBrake and the warm up feature is an awesome bonus. Scotty
