Question for Jacobs E-Brake users.

I have one and like it. HOWEVER, the dang switch rattles. I have disassembled the switch a couple of times and played with it, but I can't get it to stop rattling.

Any advice other than turn up the stereo?

TIA

Mine does that, too. I even mentioned it to a tech I took for a ride regarding a different issue, but wouldn't you know it, it was quiet that day.

I even went so far as to carefully drill a hole in the side of the switch housing, and I then used a calking gun to shoot in black silicone sealer (figuring if I ruined it, it was driving me nuts anyway). I got the black silicone to squirt out around the LED and the switch shaft, which I cleaned up. Switch still works, but still makes noise.

I have found that moving or rotating the top zip tie that holds the wires to the gearshift will temporarily make it stop...

I was thinking about just buying a replacement switch...

where did you get it and how much? I want an exhaust brake, but dont want to hassle with the service department on warranty issues since only the jacobs and mopar brakes are on their magical list. thanks

I got mine at the dealership at a pretty good discount, and installed myself. Check your local Cummins parts house also.

Install is pretty straight forward, but takes a few hours. You can download the directions from Jacob here...

I had the same problem. My LED red light on the switch also stopped working. Took it to the dealer and had them replace it. It was the switch. Still under warranty and no more problems. It seemed that it was the pull/push plunger that was the culprit.
