I used a 4" PVC pipe attached to the back bumper to store my stinky slinky, but I have to remove the 90* fitting to get it in.

After just one hose break you'll find yourself buying one of those extra heavy duty hoses that no longer fit in the handy little PVC keeper. I just thoroughly wash it down after and throw it in the back of the truck in a milk crate so it dries out. Works for me.

BTW, make sure you use some kind of bacteria/cleaner in your tank. Also, make sure whatever you use is envirnmentally friendly too. I use a product called Campa-Chem natural chemical and have had the best luck with it. I used to make my own but it was too much of a hassle. I buy the 6 pack bottles. It's super easy.

A few years ago at an RV show I noticed that one of the trailers had a one piece molded rear with no place to put a bumper, the dump hose storage was right in the front of the trailer over to one side along side the frame rail with a neat little door and a plastic pipe sloping down to the front so the hoes could drain out. After looking at my trailer I found it possible to do the same thing as there is plenty of room in most trailers. The hose stays clean and rust free along with the back bumper.

Off subject, but how many of you guys use disposable latex gloves when draining the tanks?

I use a pair of gloves and just try to be careful. I'm going to start using the disposable latex kind though.

I find the only sure way to have clean hands at the end of servicing is to wash and scrub with antibacterial soap, gloves or no gloves.

I rinse mine out and hang on the rear ladder to dry, as I put other stuff away.
I put 1/2 bottle of chemical in the black tank with 2 gal. of water. This cleans the tank, driving down the road.

No one else using a mechanical rinsing device? Just about everyone over on rv.net is running one.

$30.00, plus it just makes it too easy!

I use the "no fuss flush" it's just a spray head mounted on the side of the tank and when parked for any length of time I just leave it hooked up and use it after every drain. The tank is spotless afterwards.

(1)I do use the disposable gloves.
(2)I have a small spray bottle and mix up a fresh solution of bleach/water prior to servicing the system. When complete,I spray the hose, connections, what ever has been touched.

That's a good idea.

PJ, I just made my own with about 4' of PVC pipe, a hose fitting and a plug. I just used some fuel jets on the end so it sprays out in 6 different directions with some pressure behind it. Jam it down the toilet and turn the valve on the hose and let er' rip. Works for me.
