Mine is mounted just below where it is in jrussel's pic. There's an opening where the ashtray light is, I just ran the wires through it. It's out of the way, but close enough to reach.

I just installed mine on the left, but when my step dad runs the truck he knocks his knee. My question is "How did you mount it in the opening below the radio, jrussell?" Did you drill a hole in the back of the opening and run the wires in that way? Does it move around when you launch your truck?

Sorry for all the questions, but I am also new to a CTD, but i haul a 30ft long, 12ft tall sprint car trailer with an F350 with a chip. I just want a place to mount my prodigy that will be out of the way, and for shorter people to not knock their knees off it.

Thanks for your help!!

mines in the same place. when i pulled the dash apart, i drilled up into the little cubby and ran the wires through there. its very clean and there arent any wires showing. its also very snug in there so it wont go anywhere

Mine is just below where jrusssel put his. I drilled upward, used two pop rivets, and poked the wires back down through the back. the 4WD shifter misses, and I don't kick the controller with my knee.
I have to reach for it, but I rarely have to change settings, and It's worth the reach if I have to tap the trailer brakes once or twice.
I am going to put the CB next to it.

Mine is just above my right shin/knee. I have a 4-way flat boat style connector between the factory harness and the controller, and velcro on the dash, and top of the controller. This allows me to easily unplug and remove the controller when not in use. My buddy uses his ashtray instead of velcro, and just sets the brake in there.

Mine is right in front of my right knee maybe up just a little. I used the pocket thing that came with it and a couple screws into the plastic. The harness wire connects way up under the dash. I ran it up over the brake push rod and some other wires then out under the dash. The controller gets swapped from my truck to son's suburban so it just unplugs easily. The instruction say to mount them within some angle. Mine is about 45* where son's is almost flat. I think mine is easier to adjust. JMHO.
