I am looking at getting a wing for the top of my 2500. Any ideas?

 

That depends on your idea of "work". On my last trailer it gave me better stability in cross winds and about .5 mpg. But the front face of the trailer was flat as a board. The new trailer's front is more aerodynamic so it may not make that much difference. I have made one long trip and averaged 11 mpg with the wing. I will be making a long trip next month without the wing to compare the fuel economy and handling. One thing I do know, it will take a long time to pay for itself in fuel savings.

When I first got my truck in 95 I put on a Turbo Wing.....benfits from it are minor you mite see .5 MPG increase.....it helps some when towing into a headwind....but over all the cost doesn't offset the benfits.....if I had a High Dollar 5er I mite consider one it does keep the bug splats down on the front of a 5er (but soap and water works too)

 

Benefits:

It moves the bug line higher on the front of the 5th wheel.

Looks like the Ortaga highway in southern california. It's a fun highway to drive.... on a superbike

 

I run an older type of air deflector. Mine is not a real tall one. As far as mileage, I have not seen any differance at all. The worst mileage I got going to Niagra Falls and back last year was 12 3/4 pulling my fiver. The one advantage that I like is the kids can open the sliding rear window and I don't get the wind blowing in like you do when empty with the tail gate up.

This is the wing I had....I was dealer for the big truck wings until a couple of years ago...I had one on my truck more as as demo then a useful item....these are some of the better made wings....I don't like the fiberglass strap on type or the flimsy curved bullnose type
