Diff gear change worth it?

Good point but I should have added that a buddy pulling a much heavier 5ver up the same hill with a bone stock 05 3500 out pulls me by 10-15 mph. Which tells me that my tranny is having to work extra hard. It did overheat since then while pulling at 20-25 mph up a steep grade. Going to upgrade the VB and TC in a couple of weeks. With summer coming on fast I have no desire to be sitting on the side of the road with a fried tranny waiting for a tow.
