Decals on side of boat peeling off ??

My boat is a 1997 and has some decals on the side. I would like to keep them but taking them off is the last option.

It is only on one or two spots, the worst is one that comes to a point and about 3/8" of the part is now pulled. I would think Super Glue would hold it but how long does it last in water? Any other ideas, I will try to fix it this weekend. Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't use cyanoacrelate (super glue) because of the way if fogs and hazes. Have you tried calling a boat store and seeing if they have a recommendation?

Beautiful setup by the way.

No, I haven't called a boat store, that is a good idea. I've had a feeling about using Super Glue , you just confirmed my suspicions. The set-up works great for us ... thanks.

If it was mine I would probably trim the peeling section back, and trim the other side to match. Re-sticking stickers is pretty hard to do to make it look good

Bingo, you aren't going to get them to stick well. If you want to keep the decals, take lots of pics, debadge it, and have a vinyl sign shop redo the graphics for you.

i use clear fingernail polish to seal the edges of those stock black decals on my truck doors. boat stuff may be different decal material, don't know. my truck has sat in the sun it's whole life and the stickers aren't peeling.

Thanks for the information guys. There is a marina close buy that I will talk with, see what they say. I bet I will end up triming it or just do different graphics. But first give I'll it my best try to save it. I think changing graphics on the side could look better, the problem is I have "Zero" artistic talent. I'm an engineer, only deal with straight lines .
