Do you have their phone number handy, I'll gladly pay for overnight shipping on that price.

Thanks for all your replies.....
I just made a round trip from california to texas on HWY 10, I could have used the jacobs on a couple of those hills. I could not believe the amount of dust on the front wheels when we got back, this is after a couple of Texas thunderstorms.....i guess true....things are bigger in Texas

Just wondering.
I am quoting from memory having seen figures a long time ago - - these could be off by somewhat, but should be close enough to get some idea of what it does. The figures I saw were supposed to be for a 2003 HO.

Bare Cummins deceleration HP - - about 65

With Jacobs Exhaust brake - - about 174.

Yeh, it helps a lot.

That's about what I recall was 175 ft lbs of braking force.

I've installed about a dozen brakes at work on the 06 automatics. They work great. They'll aid in engine warm up by staying on until the engine temp reaches around 160. Coming down a grade if the rpms get too low it will automatically disengage the brake, shift the trans down, and re-apply the brake again. Everyone i've talked to with them said it was well worth it.

Smile brake

I had an US Gear D-Celerator installed last week. Works good, fits in the exhaust pipe ahead of the muffler. It was under $900. through the factory who sells through a dealer in Mo. It is electrically activated so I didn't have to install a compressor or vacuum pump. 03 CTD manual 6 spd.

I will list my stuff when I figure out how to do it.

Prospector,

I believe the Jake Brake for 03-04 is different than the Jake Brake for 04.5 to current trucks, since the 03-04's have 3.5" exhaust from the turbo to the muffler, where the 600's are 4".

There should be a tag on the front of the engine to identify it.

I was lucky - - they were running a special incentive on them when I ordered my truck. $250 installed if you bought it with the new truck.

...06 and up automatics only through the dealer. I've seen alot of snowbirds running the PAC set up on the older (03-05) trucks and most have liked them.

If you go to the Cummins web site they have a lot of info on the Jacobson exhaust brake. Search their site for the tech. info.
It's made by Jacobson and they call it a "Jake brake".It has a threded hole for a pyrometer. Mine came with two Jake Brake badges that you can put on the outside of your truck. I put them about 1" under the 3500 badge on each side. Ordered it with the truck and the dealer installed it. About a $1650 option, included install.
I've used it towing a 6k travel trailer and wouldn't be with out it in the mountains. It will hold this set up at 55mpm comming down the steepest part of I-70 into Denver.

When I bought mine, this dealer had it the cheapest of anyone. You might check with them and see if they are better in price than you've found. I bought my there and took it to a Dodge dealer to install. 1 hour install time.

Saved more than 300 bucks.
