Capacity of 06" 3500 wheels

I got a shock today. While inspecting my newly installed 988 HD front springs I noticed that there is a stamp on my front steel factory wheels "capacity 2600 pounds". GAWR on door is 5200 pounds. I took for granted that DC would place a wheel capacity that matched an "E" rated tire. I recon I is way wrong.

At least we now know how they determined the GAWR for the front axle. I believe that AAM only rates that axle for 5500. Good to know the tires aren't the weak link.

Check out your rears. I have an axle rating, which is different from the combined wheel ratings, which is again different from the combined tire ratings (both wheels and tires are stock). That is why I guestion, other than for the "cool look", why some people upgrade their tires and wheels, yet the axle rating was already lower than both stock ?
