yes.

you may need to have your 5th wheel mounted farther back, thus lowering capacity.

You can pull many of them. Ran into a guy in Florence, OR pulling a 13,500# 5'ver with his '05 2500 CTD, no problem.

Lots of info on the net to help you out. Great info on weights, etc. over at RV.NET.

I have heard a few of the people trying to tow older 5er's having height issues, but for the most part the newer 5er's have had good success. I pull this and it sits about level.

Granted your 06 is going to sit higher than my 04.5 but there is still alot options out there axle flip, larger tires, leveling kit on your truck w/ air bags etc.

Height is a MAJOR issue with the newer trucks. I found out the hard way after I got the families hopes up and then at the last minute figured out it was literally impossible (bed height issue).

As far as the weight? You can tow a decent size 5'er, just have to make sure you don't overload the truck with the pin weight alone.

Just make very sure you are going to have a decent clearance betweenthe bed and the nose of the camper, that is what seems to be the problem with newer trucks and older campers, or newer "low end" campers too sometimes.

We just picked up a 2006 Keystone Laredo 35' 5er that I tow w/ my 2500. It seems to have about 8-10" of clearance between the bed of the truck and the bottom of the trailer. Plenty of space! Plus I have a shortbed and there's plenty of clearance to turn (the edges of the trailer actually curve inward).

It all depends on the specific trailer.... I know someone that ran into a problem with that and actually had to take the bed off his truck one time so he could go on vacation. He later made some adjustments to the suspension on the trailer and it works fine now....

PJ, Did they end up gettin' your trailer hooked up for you or are back in the market?

I have a eager wife and 11 yr.old pestering me daily, I have BEEN back in the market since last Saturday.

I bought another one yesterday. It's a mid-profile, much higher in the front, and newer of course. I have the install kit for my hitch, the hitch itself comes in Monday.

The one I am getting now is night and day compared to the older Dutchmen I was looking at, totally different trailer (with a totally different price)
It's very nice, another Bunk House, this time with a bedroom slide, much nice shower and a totally enclosed underbelly. Only thing I dislike about it is the rims/tires. I am going to try to find a decent set of Aluminium 16's for it.

PJ, THat's a nice looking trailer. Layout looks alot like our jazz other than I don't have the bed slide. My trailer came 15" rims a year ago when I bought but now come with 16" rims, frustrating but I'll just have upgrade when I need tires. Gald you got somethnig that will work for ya.

Thanks. Funny, I looked very seriously as a 2003 Jazz. It actually has a bunk design I prefer (extra back door). Other than that and the bedroom slide they are very silmiar units.
