He should have kept the 900.00 in his pocket and paid you 100.00 to move it for him, again.
Pulling it is not the issue, as some have said stopping it safely is, better hope some moron does'nt cut in front of him and decide to stop quick to make a turn
Its these kinda things that get people hurt, whats the brake set up on the trailer is the HL set up with a brake controller?

What is the weight of the boat/trailer combo? I think that would be the deciding factor.

It'll pull it. I hauled a 3 ton trailer up here w/ everything I owned in it in 92 w a Toyota SR5 w an automatic trans. Question is....can he safely stop, maneuver at speed, and afford brakes and trans work every couple of years! Would I tow that much with a Toyota again? No way, its not worth the stress. He needs the right tool for the job...you don't pound nails with a screwdriver, well at least I don't!

All I can add is it takes all people

This happened to me a few months ago down here in Fl.
I was running down I 10 west and come up on this pontoon boat. To be nice I will just say the boat and the SUV pulling it was going all over the road. It turned out they put on there turn signal to get off the interstate where I was exiting, they proceded to pull into a Burger King so I pulled in there as well. I pulled up and looked at the boat /trailer parked my truck and while waiting for it to cool off walked over to the woman getting out of the SUV. I introdused my self and told her that I seen the trouble she was having pulling her boat. I offered to help her move some of the STUFF she had piled on the back of the boat to the middle or front to give her more tongue weight to stop the trailer from pushing her SUV around so bad. She told me that she didn't need my help and she only was only driving 60/65 MPH and she only had to go about 80 miles.
I have been hauling/pulling or towing something since I was 16 (More than quite afew years ago)So I was just tring to help make it a easier drive for everyone on the road.
I have seen some very strange things out on the Inter State.

I got a sandwich and went home, hope she made it where ever safly.

See Ya
Chris

Maybe I'm getting mean in my old age, but at that point Chris, I'd have called the highway patrol and reported her unsafe driving methods.

IMO. Not a good idea for any amount of distance. Especial highway travel.

I worry about some of the people I see these days in all the SUVs out there pulling large trailers. Sometimes the back of the vehicles are an inch off the ground and I wonder when they are going to loose it and cause an accident.

I was apalled to see that guy was pulling his 5th wheel with a s-10 blazer...but then i saw he reinforced the hitch w/ a 4x4 and had it chained safely to the tailgate so I knew he was OK!
