Brake controller

Which is the most popular brake controller over here on DTR?
Over when Ihad my Powerstroke and I spent most of my time @ The Diesel Stop, the Jordan brake controller was the most popular (for the most part) I was very happy with it, and may buy anotehr, but thought I would ask you guys which one's are you running on your CTD?

Used to run a Prodigy, now I run a Jordan. If we ever win the lottery, I will try a Brakesmart, but I like my Jordan way better than I did the Prodigy.

I think a lot of people here feel that the Brakesmart is the best one out there if money isn't too much of an object, and that the Jordan is the best one when value for the dollar is a factor.

What makes the Brakesmart better than say, the new Prodigy ? (i.e., what features does it offer that the Prodigy does not?)

The Brakesmart senses hydraulic pressure in the truck's braking system. Based on the actual braking effort of the truck, it sends a proportional trailer braking output to the trailer brakes.

The Jordan senses the truck's brake pedal position. Based on the effort applied to the pedal and its corresponding movement, it sends a proportional trailer braking output to the trailer brakes.

In both cases above, the driver has direct control over trailer braking effort through his/her right foot.

The Prodigy has no direct connection to the truck's braking system. It can only compute truck braking from an internal accelerometer that measures the truck's rate of deceleration. The driver has no direct control over trailer braking.

Jordan for the money. Can't say about the BS - - haven't used one. Prodigy? Forget it. I stopped more manually with the Prodigy than I did using the controller. Drove me crazee.
