Best smarty setting for towing?
I just ordered a smarty and want some input on what the best setting is for towing. Don't want my egt's to go up just want a little more pull on the grapevine.

I tow on SW3 and it works great. Cruise works fine. Good mpg. I think you could go to SW5 if you keep an eye on the EGT. I think even cruise would work there too.
edit: With you post turbo EGT I would be carefull on SW5 as it may get hotter than you think. It's all in how you drive.

When I used a smarty I used SW5 for towing. Worked well. But unloaded the throttle is too touchy for everyday driving, Went down to 3 for a while but ended up going back to stock. Overall it runs much better that way. Have been trying to get some updates for it to calm down the throttle reponse off the bottom, but Marco doesnt even respond to the requests so my smarty is for sale.

On a recent trip to Colorado carrying a 2500 lb camper, I started out with #5 and went back to #3. On the longer or steeper grades the EGT's would reach the RED if I didn't back off some. On #3, it was not near as hard to control.
