Any touble with OE Michelins?

Hello, My 04 Dodge 3500 SRW came with LTX A/S LT265/70 R17 E range Michelins. My camper will be pushing the max weight on tires. Should I worry? Has anyone had trouble?

Not a problem @ all. Make sure you add airbags though so your truck still sits level while driving - makes a world of a difference.

I pull a toyhauler with a heavy tongue weight (1300lbs without the WD hitch) and they have held up great (40,000 miles). I believe they are "E" rated.

Just wish the looked a little more "manly" and wouldn't break loose so easy when I get on throttle !

I'm getting ready to replace the stock LTX M/S on my truck next week. I have almost 71k miles on them with 6/32 on the front's and 4/32 on the rears....never a rotation either.
50k miles of their life were in AK with a heavy 11' truck camper....the rest have been here in SD and I've got a 29' TH now.
They've got a bit more dry rot on the sidewalls now than I'm comfortable with, so it's time they go.
Since the cheapest I can get the same tires for is over $175ea, I'm going with Maxxis' new MA-761 Bravo's that I can get wholesale for $95ea.

Just to add to my earlier post, I have heard nobody likes them in the snow. I pushed snow all last year w/ them & no problems.

WoW 71K that is very very impressive... I usually get about 1/2 that.

Les Schwab seems to always have 0-mile "take-offs" of the OEM Michelins they'll sell for $100/ea.

People don't like the way they look on their new truck, so they drive straight from the dealer to Schwabs for new ones.

Mine do just fine in the snow, I just air 'em down some (55-60psi).

Mud is another story.

Air them Down????????? I have tried and the problem in snow is that they tend to pack the treads very easily and that only make things worse. !! The difference must be the low density powder we get here out west vs. your eastern slop .

On my '99, I got 125,000 miles off of the OEM Michelin LTX M&S in size LT245 75/16!!! They wore like iron, but were OK at best in snow and mud. The Michelin LTX AS in size LT 265 70/17's on my 04.5 have almost 48,000miles on them now and will probably go until about this time next year. I should have about 75-80k on the clock then!!! Those Michelin's AS are great road tires. They suck for about every other condition though!!!

I have 48k on the OE Michelins, they still have some life left in them, however I'm going with the Nittos or BFGs before the snow really starts flying. As everyone has said before and I'll reinforce, they suck in the mud and in the deep snow(I been stuck countless times), otherwise a great tire.
