In my experience with anything Generac I can't believe I saw "Generac" and the term "quiet" in the same sentence. Do you have a link with more info? I'm "tire kicking" on some generators too. I have it narrowed down to a couple of Hondas and a couple Yamahas.

I found them at generacpower.com,It seems their main business is building stand by genny's for industrial and home use.

I had a QuietPact Series 5500 watt in one of my trailers......it was a good generator but not as quite as my Onan and when I first got the unit it would eat starters because they wired it wrong and the starter would stayed engaged after it started

If I was going to get another one I would get the 7500 watt diesel QuietPact it runs at a lower RPM and uses less fuel then the gas generators

All else being equal, I'd look at Onan over Generac. If there's any way you can rig a diesel fuel system, I'd also try to go diesel over the THIRSTY propane-fueled gensets.

Thanks for the replys, the genny will only be used for dry camping once or twice a year for a day or two at a time. The tr has two a/c units so the 7.5 is needed,it will be mounted up on the hay rack. The kicker is these genny's are on sale for $2200.,that's 1/2 the price of the Onan.I agee with the diesel if the required running time was high but in my case it's low,if it wasn't for the price I probably wouldn't bother with a genny.
