Airbags (finally installed) with B&W Hitch on 2nd Gen
Airbags (finally installed) with B&W Hitch on 2nd Gen
Ok,
I finally got off my lazy rear this past weekend and installed my Firestone Ride Rite airbags. I am running a B&W turn-over ball hitch. I hesitated on buying the airbags for a while because you have to drill through the hitch frame and also I knew the hitch frame would interfere with the top bracket of the airbags (the hitch frame will not let the airbag bracket sit flush against the frame). I called B&W and they said there was no issue with drilling through their bracket. If you are thinking of going with a B&W hitch and airbags, install the hitch BEFORE the airbags.
I had the top brackets of the airbags notched a little to clear parts of the hitch frame. I probably also need to notch the outer portion of the top bracket on the driver's side, where the release lever for the B&W ball is, to make it easier to pull the lever straight out and push back in.
Pictures are worth 1000 words. It is dark out now and I will get some tomorrow and post them up.

i have a mopar goose neck hitch wich bolted right in
then i got a set of ride rite air bags they also bolted right in
the only problem i had was the cross frame for the hitch inter ferared with my exhaust. so i re adjusted all my brackets on my exhaust.
my hitch bal pulls out with one pin from the rear wheel well. i like it. just drop the ball down up side down when i need the box.
