Airbag interference w/B&W turnover?

I was told to install my B&W turnover ball hitch before putting on Firestone airbags. Now it looks like I will have a couple of problems. 1. The rod/handle for turning the ball over looks like it is where the upper airbag mount bracket will be??? 2. It looks like the B&W mountings will put the upper airbag bracket out from the frame creating a misalignment??
Has anyone been through this? What am I going to be fighting with under the truck later tonight?? Thanks for any input. You guys have been great in helping me understand my truck over the past few weeks reading DTR.

I have both the firestone air bags, and a B&W turnover ball hitch and the companion 5th wheel unit and I have no problem. But if you fill out your signature, we will know what truck you have, you know what year and model and weather it is 2 or 4 wheel drive. "Ironbutt"

I agree with IronButt. What do you drive?
I have a 2001 2500 4X4 that I installed the leveling kit, now when I put the 5er or goose neck on her the back end drops down a bit to much. This is a problem when driving loaded at night due to oncoming traffic keep flipping on their brights thinking I have mine on.

Are you in North Carolina? I am just off the coast between Wilmington and Morehead City. I may be able to give you a hand, I have installed a few B&W (I think they are the best) I put one in our 1999 3500 and then my 2001 2500 and my wife's 2004 3500. I help a friend put one in his 3500 Duramax.

See Ya
Chris

My truck is 4x4 3500 DRW stock suspension. The B&W rear angle iron cross piece sticks out in the way preventing the upper mount from going up and also the 1/4" thick side "strap bolted to the outside of the frame holds the upper mount out too far. The upper mount also interferes with the ball release lever. Played around under there with the pieces and found this out. It looks like major refabricating both the upper and lower mounts would enable the bags to be used. Am I missing something? Thanks. Dondi

Sorry I forgot that. It's 2001 I fixed my signature so it will display in the future. Thanks. The cross angle iron at the rear of the B&W ball plate protrudes outside the frame where it bolts to the strap on the outside of the frame. This prevents the airbag upper mount from going up to bolt in. Looks like if I refabricated the upper and lower airbag mounts it would work. The instructions say the airbag height should be from 5" to 6 1/2". Thanks. Dondi
