I pull a 580K and a 450G no problem in a 3rd Gen.

Auto is tough going up little overpasses but it chugs along. The 6sp is much easier.

16000 lbs. plus the trailer to carry it 5000-6000 lbs. 21000-22000 on a lifted 2500? I wouldn't

I'd drink the 5th and let someone else haul the backhoe.

IMO foolish, thats over 2x your rated towing capacity. I used to tow 580's with 5YD dumps all the time, no way I would put one behind a 3/4 ton.

With a Gooseneck it might be allright, but those tires will let you know why everyone is saying no....they won't blowout (not likely anyway) But you gots lotsa rubber between the wheel and ground...If you MUST then be carefull

I'm not going to even comment how overloaded I have had my 99 2500 with a gooseneck. Lets just say I was way over 26,001 lbs which is in CDL territory but my truck also has a set of overload springs and about near stock size tires. A great deal of it depends on how your load the trailer to, the goal is to keep the majority of the weight on the axles of the trailer if at all possible.

remember only a certain percentage of the weight is actually on the truck, believe the towing for a 2500 is around 8500 on the gn hitch, not sure about the lifted part because real working trucks dont get lifted
