235/80R17 Tire choices for the Dually

I just got through talking to Michelin customer service at 1 877 788-8899 about when Michelin will be providing tires for the 1-ton dually which is equipped with the 235/80R17. What they told me is that they do not have current plans to produce this size tire but would forward my interest on to marketing. they told me that if there is enough calls about producing a tire of this size that they may consider producing it. I am dissapointed that there is basically no choice on tire manufacture for replacement tires in the stock size. I would urge all interested members to calll this number or send e-mails to
Michelin.Webtire@us.michelin.com for request to produce a tire!!

Thanks

On the 3rd gen threads there are discussions about the new '04.5 duallys coming with General tires now instead of Goodyears.

My tire dealer is suggesting Firestone 7.50-16's Steeltex. Just trying to scrape up enough coin to get rid of these slicks.

Your tire dealer outta be shot. Steeltex is under recall.
I went with Kelly Commercial CSR's for $125/each. 50000 mile warranty. 235/85/16's.

You're just screwed pal. That's one of the reasons I got rid of my 03. I couldn't find reasonably priced tires for it. Face it DC screwed us on 17 and 20" tires! The industry standards are 16, 19.5 & 22.5. Michelin made a special run just for DC. Don't expect them to make any others, when the market won't support it.
