07 Megacab with a 33Ft TT

Hey guys im new to the forum and I hate to start off with a question that has been asked a million times but! I have a 2007 Megacab with a 5.9 auto, the truck has a 6 inch BDS lift with 37 Dick Cepek FC2's. Only engine mods are an intake and a MBRP catback dual exhaust. I have a 33ft tt and I have only taken it on a short trip, about an hour, and im looking to go from Maryland to Maine. I wanted some input on any concerns I should have with the trans, tires or anything else before the long trip. I was thinking about new 35's before the trip. should I think about a tuner? Thanks for any advise.

First, welcome to the site! Lots of good info here. The first thing you need to consider, is a set of gauges. These should include boost, egt/pyro, trans temp, and some of the guys say a fuel rail pressure gauge. Boost will tell you how much air the turbo is "pushing" into the engine. The pyro measures egt(exhaust gas temperature) coming out of the engine. The other two do as stated. There are a lot of different brands/options out there for all of these. These will help you monitor what is going on and hopefully keep you from melting down some parts. The tuner of choice on here is the "Smarty". Check the classifieds on here for a used one if your tight on cash. You did not state the trailer weight, or your axle ratio, or the mileage on your rig. Towing with the 37s, will make the engine work kinda hard. The reason I say mileage is that you may need to change the trans and diff fluids as towing makes them both run at a warmer temp. The search option is your friend on here. Check out the 5.9 high performance section for some more of your answers. Good luck and have a safe trip!

Thanks for the replies. Been busy so I haven't been on here. Weight dist hitch yes and I have a good brake controller. My truck has 54000 miles and 3.73's i believe. I bought it with the lift and tires so im not 100% on the gears. I do paln on some gauges and new tires in the future. Thanks for the help.
