I think Jack's earlier post says it best.

Enough boys.

Just kidding. The new site is a nice change. It looks like a few weeks of tweeking and stuff and all will be well. I agree it'd be nice to have the photo gallery option again because there are so many rigs on here that look amazing, but I'm sure it'll all get fixed!

Thumbs up

Well, I didn't have a chance to read through this whole thread, but I want to say that despite all of the things I don't like about change, or getting used to the new set-up, the fact that EMOTICONS ARE NOW INSERTED WHERE THE CURSOR IS just ROCKS!!

Thank You!

This site is heavily modified. All the extra bells and whistles have to be coded manually and that's going to take time. A LOT of time. Some of the mods I used to use on my site used to take around 45 minutes to insert the code. Multiply that by the number of mods/hacks you use, and you're now looking at quite a few hours of coding.

Give the site a few days to return back to normal.

Having said that, Jack, I really DO like postbit_legacy better.

I can insert smiley faces EVERY WHERE! Even after I type! Wheeee!!!

Thanks Jack! I realize the time it takes to upgrade a site without disrupting the normal flow of traffic is immense. I know a few of us could throw in php/vbb skills if needed. Have you thought about outsourcing the code to India? j/k, of course.

I'm getting a bunch of weird symbols like â € mixed in with posts, some of my own, that weren't there yesterday. What's up?

Ive seen some of that as well. I don't know why it's doing that, but I have been looking into it.

It looks like punctuation didn't transfer over very well.
Commas and such from yesterday and previous got turned into sanscrit or something.

Most likely just a font problem, new software didn't like the font the old version was using.

Not sure I like the new version yet, but like all things, it'll grow on me.

Guess I'd better go shorten my sig, seems to be too long.

I was thinking along the same lines, that something in the db conversion didn't go so well. It's hard to say. I don't see any unusual characters in posts from after the change.

Links to user galleries are back. you can find them in each post, and in the user profiles at the top right near the last activity information.
