Are We Just Going Through Growing Pains

And sometimes things don't quite come out right. I made a reply a few weeks ago that was take the wrong way. I certianly didn't mean for it to be taken as it was. But these things happen in cyber space. If I had made the same comment standing arroung our trucks it probally wouldn't have stood out at all. But the way we can sit here and read the comments over and over make things seem worse sometimes.
Anyway, thats what I think...

I've only been here about a week, but I have been very very very impressed with this site ! I know we all sometimes are opinionated but I sure have not run into anything. I pretty much stick to the diesel/performance/truck forums and will steer clear of any politics / religion etc though. I tip my hat to the moderators and administrators for having such a great site and I am trying to spread the news about this site on some other forums. This is now my main forum and I am absolutely hooked ! I need to find a Truck Bombers Anonymous chapter !

I have to chime in as well and say I actually look foward to scroll the boards here and always learn something new. I have been working on all types of diesels starting in the third grade with my father on the gulf coast, and I love hearing new ideas and ways of doing stuff. Too bad good ole cyber space couldn't beam all of us once a month trucks and all to a place to meet and hang out to share ideas.

Don't do that!!! You'd all find out I am really a bank officer wearing those thin loafers with tassels...

Top hit it on the head. The larger the board, the more diverse opinions that will surface. There will always be those that would rather argue than discuss. Hmmmmmmm maybe me? But as he said, it is human nature. They do a great job, I believe that, even when they shut me down!!!
But look at all the help these different opinions give you. Simple stupid ideas that you just did not think of. I have learned so much from this board, I know of none better.

I've noticed that there are a few distinct times of the year where the atmosphere takes a shift. One is right now. Spring fever. Everyone is coming out of their hibernation and letting us all know.
Take a guess when it gets heated again.
HOHN is a great guy to talk to. Have had the chance to meet with him and his family a few times. His passion for diesel trucks is only one of many that he does and knows well.
Then theres the guy that wants to put two gear clamps on push lock hose and fittings.

99 cummins:
I can see your point that is brought up in your first post of this thread.
Like you, I guess I feel that way sometimes too and as you know, I am probably one of the ones that has been in some of these "disagreements" you mention here lately!
I guess I feel we can all "agree to disagree", if that makes any sense. And I have said this before, but when a "disagreement" or "difference of opinion" gets into personal attacks or what I refer to as "disrespect" to another DTR Member, then it is time for that individual to go! As Lary has pointed out, the DTR has grown tremendously in the last couple of years and with that growth comes the individuals that the majority of us don't want here. When any of us get to thinking things aren't running smoothly here, all you need to do is go over onto some of the other diesel websites and see what goes on there. I do that occasionally and it makes me really appreciate what a "tight ship" Jack, Lary and our crew of Moderators do on a daily basis for us here.
I applaud the efforts of Lary Ellis and his entire staff of Moderators and Administrators here that keep this place running smoothly on a daily basis. I also thank Jack Thorpe for forming this great diesel website! One thing you can "rest easy" with "99 cummins" is the fact that when Lary Ellis says; "We have never allowed that type of interaction on here (DTR) and never will" is that HE MEANS IT!
