Admin guys,
I'm thinking of putting a board on a site I manage. Is the vBulletin reliable? They sell a license for $160.00. I'm not that all experienced as a webmaster...sort of self taught. Is the board easy to set up, etc., etc. Thanks!

phpBB is free. Both look about the same, a lot of larger companies use phpBB, do a search in google for exact phrase "powered by phpBB" and you can see some of them.

Unless you're well versed in all things SQL and VBulletin, I'd probably stay away from it. It's powerful, but has a steep learning curve.

Thanks for the advice. I got a pretty simple one that has only one ad banner. At least there are no annoying pop-ups.
