After looking through the avatars that we were stuck with before the allowance of uploaded pictures, I realized exactly how random they were. There are a few Loony Tunes, a rotating Dodge emblem, a picture of George Foreman, and a dozen other really random things.

So, is there a story behind how those avatars became available? Why the totally random selection?

 

Pretty sure most of them came with the forum software.
Dodge was added for obvious reasons.
Scotty persuaded Jack to add the George Foreman, best grills on the planet apparantly.

Not sure on the rest of them.

Phox pretty much hit the nail on the head. Most of those are what came with the software, and we haven't added much to it to be honest. I'm personally not fond of things like avatars (even though mine is customized), sticky threads etc., so I haven't spent much time on them. For a long time, we had no avatars at all because they were abused in the past. However, the membership has been really good in policing themselves since we started up the avatars last time. Anyways, there is a short answer for you.

I always thought it was a little odd that we had two different Dale Jarretts and two copies of David Spade.
