Lightbulb Time between posts...

Is there anyway we can shorten the amount of time between posts to say 30 seconds? I figure that the reason it is on here is to prevent programs from posting hundreds of times over and over, but many times, the 60 second wait is too long when trying to answer many posts in different topics. Is there anyway we could at least cut it in half?

Wouldn't this make peak upload bandwith 2x as much though, with twice as much post action being able to be done?

I don't think that would change for the simple fact that just because the interval is shorter, that doesn't mean that everyone posts at that interval. You would think the max bandwidth would still be (bandwidth per user x # of users) no matter what your delay was because the delay is based on how soon YOU posted, not other people. If it was 60 seconds BETWEEN ANY posts, then I think you would be exactly right. I could be wrong, but that's how it seems to me.

This is true too, cant argue that one. Guess you will just have to wait and see what the outcome of your new suggestion is.

Only time will tell. Hopefully it will happen; as we speak, I am having to wait 27 seconds to post this!!

It does suck but it's been brought up before and I don't think it's going to change. That's the only bad thing about having high speed internet.

There is a time delay between posts. However, I do not know the exact interval. This would be a change only Jack can make.
Might I suggest that if a more "Real Time" correspondence is needed, perhaps the Chat room would be of benefit?

Yeah.. chat room. Never anyone on it unless it's 2230 and I'm already in bed.

Are there different chat rooms, or just one with different "tables" for discussion?

My reference to the chat room was intended to mean that you would invite the parties involved in the conversation to the chat room for a real time conversation.

There is just a "Chat" room. Its open to all of our members and yes, it can have many discussions going on at one time in the same room.
There are (or were) different rooms set up for our National Chapter meetings.

I'm not into so much chatting with somebody as I am just from cruising the different forums and posting in them. I can post in the 2nd gen performance, go to the general diesel and try to make another post and still hit the time limit. Dang DSL internet.

Ah.. Honestly, I was not aware that the time limit was that long.
I dont think Ive ever ran across such a limit. It may not be enforced for Moderators, or perhaps, Ive just never made back to back posts like that.

Rich.

DSL is a snail's pace compared to synapses firing at Warp speed...
