Suggestion - private message status

It is easy to overlook the private message status and the fact that folks may have unread messages. This is particularly true with the all the new folks that enter the forum. Just a suggestion, but highlighting the "Unread" or 'number' field related to that when unread messages are there would be very useful. It might also serve to reduce the number of replies to a post where someone is asking a question. Blinking red maybe?
regards,

i have been on some forums that have a pop-up, for a lack of a better term, that would alert you when you first signed on the forum if you had a unread message. just a thought

You can turn that on here, I have had it switched on in my settings before... I'm guessing Jack defaults it to "off" to lessen server load.

That doesn't affect server load but I do have it switched to off by default
