question on coding, FF ?
tremendous amount of work goes into this site, I know withthe levels of membership server performance is always in the sites best interest. On that I am wondering if it is the sites coding that causes this"glitch". It is not that big a problem, and I am used to it, but it does cause un needed hits to the server. Everytime I post a reply to a thread I have to hit the back button threee times fast to get back to the list of new posts, each time, even if for just an instant, the server is busily trying to send me back info on all three clicks. If I am not fast enough and just hit the back button, it will forever bring me to the post I just made. is there any way to eliminate this? it seems that it should progress as follows, add post to thread, wait, and you see the post. hit the back button, and takes you right back to the page you were on when you selected the thread to read. Done, no excess server hits, and no clickin madly to get back where I want to be. If it was done to make it so it was easy to edit a post, well that tab is there to use in the rare instance an edit needs done in a hurry. if you are not following me, I am sure I could explain it better on the phone... 201 954 2142.
You explained it well. I've noticed the same thing and just blamed it on the fact that since I, like you, choose to browse the site using "new posts" I could either back out of each post, or hit the "new posts" button again to return me to its list (which uses even more server resources). It would be nice if there was a more efficient way to return to that list.
