Posting articles

Occasionally I read an article in a newspaper or a magazine that I would like to post on DTR for fun or information for the DTR readers. What is the correct procedure for this? For example, I can cut and past a newspaper story easily, but do I include the name of the auther? What about the news source, such as Reutors or some other organisation? As something like this is obviously not intended for profit, do any copytight laws/infingements come into play?
What can and cannot be cut and pasted and why?

Your best bet is to post a link to the article. I'm not going to go into extreme detail as to why or what all of the laws are, but that is our policy. I'm not sure what the legalities are, so we just choose to take the safe road.

FYI

Any links posted here must fall within the parameters set forth by the site rules regarding profanity, etc.....

Obviously I am not concerned with that issue in regards to Stan, but for others who read this post I thought it best to make note of it as I often remove links that do not belong here.

Stan, generally quoting 10% of an article is fine and falls within acceptable limits. Anything above that most generally runs afoul of the copyright laws.
