Political debates

Since the ban on political issues, I find that I miss some of the discusions. Truth is that a vast majority of them ofered a lot of good arguments and resoning. Anyway, it is what it is.
My question is: do any of you participate in any political oriented forums? Someting along the lines as we had here from time to time. If so could you pass on the link, web address etc.

There was a ban on political discussion?

When was that?

I remember talking about it, but there is an actual ban?

And NO, there are no good political sites anywhere...

There's a few big ones, but I've never seen a well moderated one. Since the moderators are so lax on all of them, it usually goes like this:

Entire Comment Removed By Moderator

The only good way to make a good political discussion forum is to really moderate it; you need to act more like an actual debate moderator and be merciless with people who try to change the topic, troll and who are just totally ignorant, or who post the same exact thing over and over and over again. On this site the mere threat of moderation works wonders, but most political sites attract racists, biggots, trolls, and mindless party panderers and the moderators don't give a darn about the total lack of original thought.

Well, that's ironic.

No, I had to remove the comments out of Beagle1's post.
The comments violated the site rules and thus, were removed.

Thats what I liked about debating here , you knew that there would be mostly good ideas passed around the ****** on .
The best conversations I seen , were in forms that were unrelated to politics ,
a realy good one the other day on Bench Rest Central [ a form about bench rest shooting ].

Sorry Beagle1,
Nothing against you.

The content that was removed was done so because it violated the site rules, regardless of the maner in which it was intended.

Rich.

Well, the thread relates to site questions, so it was moved to the appropriate place for SITE QUESTIONS. Take a look at the forum name. I can't tell you about the rest because I have nothing to do with it, but geez, give me a break.

The original question is a rather definitive "Other" topic... Of course, since I managed to hijack the thread, by mentioning the evils of lax moderation, and then the moderators removed the comment, and then moved the entire thread based on my hijacking...

Anybody else confused yet, or only me?
