I enabled them because of a difference in the way we handle them now. They used to all be stored in the db, making it huge and painful to deal with but now that the attachments are stored as files on the server, it makes them a lot easier.

This is in TEST. This feature may or may not stay around so don't be surprised later down the road if you see that ability disappear.

This means, don't ruin it!!! I know that all the good, faithful and loyal members would not do anything to get this taken away.
Mr. Thorpe, is there any way that this could be a privilige? After so many posts/time as a member? Or any way to be able to remove it from just one user?

I imagine that I could put stipulations on it, like adding a requirement that you have 50 posts before you can upload attachments or something like that. I'd say lets give it some time and see how things go. I wouldn't just turn it off overnight, but rather do what you just stated. Thank you for the idea. I'm going to keep that one on hand just in case.

Glad to know that I'm over the required post count.

So what exactly is an attachment?

If I am responding to a post, and want to have a picture accompany it, then i can list it into the post the way we have before (but it had to be hosted or in the garage). An attachment can be pulled direct from our hard drive as below:
