Digitial resizing

I'm new to this Digital Pic stuff.
Got a camera for Christmas.

How do you'se guys, and gals resize to be able to upload and still see a decent size picture? ???
I've got Dimage, and Kodak imaging programs, but can't seem to get the sizes right.

Ed

Re:Ditial resizing

I hate the packaged software that comes with the camera. If it's packaged you can usually figure that was because they couldn't sell it outright.
I use Thumbs Plus, which allows easy viewing of pics as thumb nails so you can see them all, and it allows rotation, resize, cropping, and color adjustments.
http://www.cerious.com

Chris

Re:Digitial resizing

Cool, thanks Stamey.
I'll check out some of the other stuff out there.
(and probably have to start buying AA batteries by the truck load)

What dimensions do you re-size to?

Re:Digitial resizing

Ed, buy the rechargeable batteries and a charger. You will save money in the long run, get a couple sets of the batteries so you can charge a set while you use the others

Wally world sells that stuff pretty cheap.

Thanks Top (Larry).
I've got one set of the rechargables now, will soon have two.
Wifey suggested a "card reader" so I don't have to use the camera itself to upload the pics.
Cool.........now to figure out how to BOMB a digital camera.

Re:Digitial resizing

Ed, My wife and I spend a great deal of time on the boat in summer time. I found a battery charger for those AA's that is solar powered. Sun is one thing in abundance on the boat and it is slow but will recharge them in a 12hr day. That is enough to keep the camera alive for normal picture taking during the week , with 2 spare sets of battery's.

I don't know if you would ever have a need for it, maybe it would work great on a long road trip as well, but if so I got it at Harbor freight tools online. A nice addition for those times I don't spend a lot of time around electricity

Also for good deals on digital film check out
www.techbargains.com they list new stuff everyday and I have got some good deals from them on CF cards.

Re:Digitial resizing

I have a kodak dx3600 digital camera and use the soft wear that came with it. When the pictures are in the row of thumb nails you can pick one (has an orange border), then there is a list on the Left side that lets you get pictures from a sorce, modify, e mail, and a save & resize funtion. pick the picture you want, click, for this site the REPRINT size is perfect then hit the save button in the upper right corner, Make a folder with a name like down sized truck pictures, hit enter then open that folder, down below you name that picture, for example left side of truck.
Hope I didn't confuse you.

Re:Digitial resizing

The above picture wasn't taken with the Kodak, but was down sized with the kodak program.
This was taken with the Kodak.
;D Al

Re:Digitial resizing

Make sure you get the NIMH rechargeables, not the NiCads. The NIMH are supposed to NOT have the memory problem that NiCads do.

Chris
