Question Date/time stamp on original threads

Could the date/time when a thread is started be automatically posted? Maybe a sort of time-stamp?

This could be placed right next to the person's name who started the thread?

It will show on the post. First day it will be x minutes or x hours ago. After 24 hours, it will show the actual date and time.

Well I feel like an idiot! I never noticed that. I saw the time stamp on posts to the threads, but I just didn't notice the time stamp for the original thread.

Thanks for pointing that out TomW.

Actually , it goes up to 24 hours , then it goes by days , up to 7 days , then it goes by weeks , up to 4 weeks , THEN it will show the actual date a thread was posted.

I can set it up either way. I suppose we could start a poll to see what people like best. I like the way it is now, but I don't like the fact that it goes for so long. Maybe something like today and yesterday and then after that, it posts the date instead. I will have to do some research on that.

Question

Or maybe some type of symbol (when I'm logged on) that will show that I responded to that thread already.

Sometimes I like to "surf" the new threads, but I'm only interested in the ones I responded to previously.

I hope that made sense.

The forum software does that.

Look along the left hand column in list of threads.

If you HAVE replied to a thread you will see this :

If you have NOT replied you will see this :

Also, when viewing the list of threads scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page. You will see a box with the thread symbols and their meanings.
