It really has nothing to do with server bandwidth or space. I have plenty of space. The only thing we need a new server for is processing power and speed. In ref. to the avatars, We will never ever until the day I die allow them. I don't know how much more clear I can be. Maybe you didn't read my previous explanations in the other numerous threads about it? Im not sure, but let me say this again, it will never happen. ever.

Old enough to build the free site that you're using. ... and old enough to know when I have to use that kind of language to make people understand something.

I have settled on the fact that we shall never have custom avatars and I never really even wanted them in the first plane and I'm not undermining anything BUT-

You do realize that saying the words "We will never ever until the day I die" makes the issue kind of a challenge, right?

Just a thought, but now people have a goal to aspire to...

Then I think you should remove ALL avatars. We can not use our own personal avatars and the choices we have to chose from are really lame. This is a diesel forum not a kiddy cartoon, adam sandler, nascar forum. You remove ALL avatars and the problem is gone. A lot easier to post that avatars are not allowed as compared to gritching about the use of a personal one. And I was not able to find any pictures of real dogs amongst the choices I have either.

I have a better idea, I can remove anybody who continues to complain about this issue and solve the problem permanently. The ban function works just fine in a situation like this.

We actually did that a while back because of this very issue. I brought them back last year in hopes that we could come to some kind of happy medium.

We can not use our own personal avatars and the choices we have to chose from are really lame. This is a diesel forum not a kiddy cartoon, adam sandler, nascar forum.
Then instead of crying me a river, how about volunteering some of your time to help out? I've found over the years as I run this site, that a great many people have a very strange sense of entitlement, but aren't really willing to do anything to help out. Remember that this is a site made up of volunteers who freely give their time to keep it running. I've always believed that you get what you put into it. So again, instead of complaining so much, put some time in and help out.

You remove ALL avatars and the problem is gone.
I'm actually getting very close to doing that again because for some reason, it's always been a big issue for people, especially lately.

A lot easier to post that avatars are not allowed as compared to gritching about the use of a personal one. And I was not able to find any pictures of real dogs amongst the choices I have either.
When you put as much money and time as our moderators and administrators have, then I'll gladly put one up for you, of anything you choose.

I can't believe how much time and effort people put into this issue. I couldn't give less of a darn about avatars and I would guess that the majority of the membership feels the same way.

If eliminating avatars once and for all puts this issue to rest, I say let's do it. I guess it is my choice whether I read these threads or not, but I for one am tired of them.

If Jack and the mods want to keep theirs, they have earned that right.

I really love the site as I have gained a great deal of knowledge about my CTD. As for the avitars take or leave them I don't care, but on the other hand I am a mod on a forume and a site is only as good or popular as the members make it. You guy's ie, admins and CEO's can't answer all the questions and supply all the resorces of information needed to keep a site succesful. So ruling with the threat of banning people for expressing a request is not nessasary. No matter how frustrated you get because members want to use personal avitars you should atleast consider supplying avitars that are more suitable to this forume. Most people use their avitar for easy recognition in finding a post, I like the spinning dodge symbol and tried it once but three other members posted on the same thread and it took me awhile to figure out which one was mine. I a newbe here so I really don't have a dog in the hunt just giving my opinion.

I was only joking about asking how old you are
