The truck in my sig is new to me by 2 months. I've been having problems with the oil pres gauge coming up when I start the truck after its sat for at least an hour. It doesn't always do this and if it does all I have to do is shut it off and turn it back on and it works fine. The needle doesn't act abnormally any other time. So my question is this, Is this an electrical problem or an oil problem? I've through about putting a live oil pres gauge in to watch it more closely. Any thoughts guys?

To me it sounds like there might be some kind of electrical issue in the oil pressure switch circuit or it might be the pressure switch itself. I would still put a mechanical guage in anyway I think that they are much more reliable.
