Any body done this or know how hard it is to pull off will the chevy trans fit with an adapter or would I have to use the 5 spd out of my 97???
There are a few people doing the swaps. The only thing I remember that you will have to do is either a body lift or some tweaking to the firewall with a rather large hammer
Did I say large hammer? I meant sledge!

that would be a really nice swap, i love those chevy bodystyles from back then. Like he said i think a small body lift clears the engine bay for it, and a suspension lift for the added wieght maybe.

Many there have done it and some of us that are planning to do a conversion spend time there getting ideas.
I was planning to put a 1st gen 12v in a '97 3500HD but I'm looking at only using the rolling chassis now so the issues are a bit different.
