The Grey filters are still the Green filter with a clear oil. This is something new that Green is doing and they were backordered on the actual Green colored one. The filter is actually white, but the screen mesh is black and makes it appear grey. The cool thing is that you can buy several different colors of oil to make it match your color scheme if you want.

The airboxes currently shipping today are going out Green! We are now out of the white ones!

Quad
Darn!....I was hoping mine was going to be BRIGHT RED.

UPS delivered the box at 6:45 tonight.

The box looks good and is definatley heavy built. The installation looks pretty straight foreward, but they put the instructions for the flat filter in the box. I emailed QuadzillaPower with a couple of questions just to make sure I put it on right.
I also asked a couple of other questions:
1) Is there a foam pre filter available?
2) How do I order a cleaning kit?

I'll try to get it on tomorrow, and will post pics and comments in a few days.

Again, THANK YOU to Quad and DTR!

Hmmmm...FYI....I'm having a few problems with the 2nd Gen install. I've contacted QP via phone and email and will get back when the issues are resolved.

Install should be a snap.

1.) Pull the lid off and unscre the 3 nuts holding the stock airbox on.

2.) Pull the intake tube off of the airbox and off of the turbo, this just makes it easier.

3.)Put the intake tube on the Monster Air Intake, but do not tighten the intake tube.

4.) Pull the 3 grommets with nuts in them out of the stock airbox and put them in the new airbox.

5.) Set the airbox on the 3 bolts and lightly screw them down.

6.) Make any adjustments need on the intake tube and route it around to the stock turbo. Tighten the clamp.

7.) Tighten the clamp on the intake tubing on the airbox side

8.) Tighten the 3 nuts on the new airbox where it attaches to the fender

9.) Install the filter and tighten the clamp.

10.) Pull the filter minder from the stock airbox. Remove the grommet and re-install it into the new airbox. Pop the filterminder back into the grommet.

11.) Enjoy.

Quad,
Thanks for the instructions.
It don't take a Joe Friday to figure out how it goes on. What I was looking for was some kind of "trick" to getting the air minder out, which wasn't an easy task without breaking it. Getting it out wasn't easy, but getting it into the new box is even harder. Also, the hose from the turbo is just as hard. I finally gave up, but will try again later this weekend. I'll grease them down real good before I tackle it again.

I think you should just put it back in box and forward it to me, I can get it installed.

Thanks for thinking of me Buckshot, but I'll manage to get it on there. I just hate forcing things into place.

Let me say this, it is a really nice intake air setup. There is nothing cheap about it and it looks good. It's heavy built and made to last a long, long time. I've looked at probalby all of the aftermarket air intakes, and this definatly ranks right up there with the best as far as construction goes.

I figured I'd offer a helping hand since you offered me help with my tires.

The box looks good.
I haven't driven it but about 200 miles on the hwy since the install, but the throttle response seems to be better, and the EGT's cruising at 65 mph are about the same. I haven't towed with it yet.

Did you donate?

It's been going on since Spetember, not sure how many he was giving away, I think that was the last one.
