[I][/kI]I tried to get mine to work but it was hard standing on my head so I gave up. When I move to a colder climate I may look at it again or get a brick.

 

I have a zena 150 amp welding system that temp mounts on top of alternator when needed, and rpm controls how much output amperage you have at your stick, truck alternator has a second pulley for drive belt. cable is handy for cold weather warmup with a tad higher rpm.

 

NJT that bumper is a Mopar accessory and is listed. I actually have one I bought off eBay a few years back. It was the standard style bumpers on a special Rod Hall edition back in 89-90 trucks.

 

Okay after looking through my Mopar catalog I called my local dealer today to see if any of these odd ***** were still available. Obviously most of them weren't available but I got lucky with one old number. This odd ball had one dealer in the country that had two and I ordered them from Nebraska, LOL. Not sure I will use them due to how they attach to the bottom of the doors but I have to ask. Have any of you old timers ever seen these? They are Mopar automatic swingout steps. They attach to the bottom of the door and slide in/out when the door is open and closed. I have never seen these before. They were available for our trucks from 1972-93. When the young girl was trying to describe to me how they work I wasn't getting it so she snapped me these two pics, LOL. Guys tell me you've seen and used these?????

 

Now THAT'S something I could fab up with my welder/plasma cutter. Would you mind getting a few measurements for us?

I remember those. So that makes me an Old Timer??? Danged young whipper snappers...

My dad bought his '93 new in '94. A couple years later during a snow storm two UPS trucks sandwiched him at a stop light turning in to take my brother (UPS pilot) to the airport. Long story short, only damage was cosmetic to the bumpers. Insurance check was enough that he got the double tube bumpers front & rear. Can't remember if it was dealer or aftermarket. Front has a big loop that follows the grill intake area between head lights.

He still has the truck and bumpers, maybe a little over 100K on it now? Sits in the barn for the past several years. Me or my brother go out and start it every now & then and drive it a few feet...

 

 

KRB I only meant that Old Timer thing as these were available all the way back to 1972 and in no way meant it as a disrespectful thing. I can see these steps being a more prominent accessory back in their hay day.

edwinsmith I wont mind. Heck once I receive them I might just sell them to someone who will use them. The only reason I called the dealer and bought them was I thought it was a neat Mopar item that should get used by someone

I love this old iron and just couldn't stand the thought of these old pieces collecting dust in a dark storage room and if history tells us anything as I am sure most of you know these old Mopar numbers have been sold off in lots or simply thrown away. I am dead serious that good hard to find items have been tossed due to cost savings or tax purposes. I know when my local dealer closed that they had a lot of items upstairs that were old stock that I was told was trashed. Heart breaking to think what might have been up there.

There is a company local to me called Saturn Surplus. They sell new surplus duece and a half fuel shut off cables that look really similar to the high idle cable for less than $20. You may be able to retrofit one. I used one to make my manual engine stop set up. They are twist lock. Here's a link:

Mr. Fusion - Saturn used to carry a bunch of old M880 (W200) stuff too. I got that deuce shut off you speak of and put it on my '92 for a kill switch. I guess I didn't use it enough as it is froze up now and the last time I tried to use it the handle pulled off.

 

Okay guys so I received the two step kits today. There are a few pieces in it that make it work. I had a few guys who sent me messages that they were interested. If anyone is interested I will sell them for what I have in them plus the shipping. Here are two pics I took just to get an idea of what they look like in person. Shoot me a PM if your interested. I would rather they get used then possibly a one day.

 

Yeah I was thinking that might be a problem. I took the wire out of the cable housing and pretty much drenched the housing in WD40 to help repel moisture before I put it all back together. I've bought some M880 stuff from them too. They still have some of it but I don't think they have much of it listed on their web site. You have to call them for some of the more obscure stuff.
