regarding above mentioned problem... tell me if you all think this will work. Excuse the crudeness of my drawing, hopefully you get the jist...
unbolted the stand and slid it back until it was level. if I put a wedge under it and a metal brace where the blue line is, think it will work? do it to the other side, and there ya go... even steven right?

 

With the outrigger wheels, it will be wider than the motor is long, so no tipping. that's what I'm going for anyway.

 

Cool. Make sure you develop some sort of safety into those pivots. An emergency brake of sorts, so it can't wizz out of contol as you're rotating it.

Here is some pictures of an engine stand I made a few years ago, it's rotatable.

 

That's a lot of weight to hang on those 4 bolts!

 

The two lifting eyelets on top of the head use less than those 4 bolts. All big diesel engines locate an engine just like that on the stand for rebuild.

 

That's the first thing I said to myself, but then I did the math, and its only 300 lbs per screw. Shear wouldn't be an issue, just pullout.

I wouldn't set my sleeping bag under it, though

 

Can you run the steel perpendicular to your blue line instead? Just thinking with that doughnut isolator compressing on one side it wouldn’t be good.

I don't feel so bad about using 4 x 5/8 bolts on my trailer hitch then. Seems like a high pucker factor to my inexperienced eyes.
