The name alone is enough to make me not want to buy it. sorta like Glowshift.
The parts may well be OK but the name reeks of cheap Chinese Junk.
Thanks for your opinion on the name but as the saying goes, "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." The company is part of Marmon part of Berkshire Hathaway. Which makes a lot of aftermarket parts and systems.
I was asking if anyone has actually used one of these and whether it is a decent clutch.
I have been using 12 in , disc and Borg and Beck style pressure plate for 50K behind a 4BT no issues what so ever . I'm not to fond of diaphragm style pressure plates
I haven't tried it but by the looks of it, we've all tried something like it before - It is basically a Sachs OEM 13" cast iron piece with a solid pressure plate. I've tried the SACHS HD disk with the slots on the friction material, and it didn't seem to make any improvement but would engage later, with more slip and less chatter. Don't forget that this heavy cast iron clutch design was engineered by chrysler specifically for our application only, we are lucky that they are still being manufactured.
Sorry I can't be of much more help. Nice that the kit seems to include a few different types of input shaft bearings/bushings, includes the throwout bearing and installation/alignment tool. I have bought a few clutches from Rock auto in years past but that brand name wasn't available, seems to be a new addition. I wouldn't hesitate to try it, given the price. There isn't much choice, it is either this model, or the AMS/Sachs for 100 bucks more that has the slotted disk.
The Brut force brand has a couple other 12" clutch kits. The cheesy name is a bit off-putting I agree but at least that model you are looking at isn't a one-off offering.
Thanks PapeCat. I decided to take a chance and put it on order. My only concern is whether or not it will fit my stock flywheel. I'll take some pics when it comes in to give a better description.
