23.66 Mpg!
23.66 Mpg!
1000 Kilometers, and I had to squeeze every drop into the tank to get 100 Liters to fit in!
Checked on the way back , and for the same 1000K I could only get 98 liters to fit!
Anyway you slice it.... that's some great economy. 8 mountain passes, some stop and go Vancouver traffic, and peaked at 24.14 mpg!!!!!!
All hand calculated, at the pump. SMARTY is making me SMILE!
Level 5, RP#2, Timing 4, Turbo=Off, shift lim off, RPM Stock!
Of course I made sure so shift at 2200 rpms religiously and use Cruise control whenever possible!
Worst part was the Kootenai Mountain Pass... Water temps were 190F and Oil temps were a BLAZING 230F on the long climb side, and I wasn't even towing!
Tire pressure was 68 PSIG Cold, Airbags were nominal at 35PSIG.
IE SP62/14 Stock intake and exhaust, and the kitty is still there too!
Bob, Marco, Thanks for the help!

We just got back from a vacation. We drove from Katy Texas to Hot Springs Arkansas and it was 452 miles. I hand calculated the milege and figured it to be 22.6 MPG. We kept the speed just under 70mph. I think thats pretty good.

Hm. I might have to go out and check my revision, now you have me going WTH?

At any rate, i will stress that I was consciously trying to eke out the most mileage.
Combined with the settings, you have to practice restraint, and maintain momentum as best you can. A 10 mph headwind would have made the difference between 19.5 mpg and what I ended up with.

In terms of absolute economy, you can control everything but the windspeed and direction.
