Well Dan, the G56 clutch has a higher clamping load than the NV5600, but driver technique plays a large role IMO - I think if I revealed my theory & practice for getting the most out of a stock clutch, I'd probably get flamed & laughed right off of DTR!

We had a load in the bed yesterday - 10' lengths of 304SS hanging out the back, lawnmower, etc. - so we grossed over 9500#, and the clutch repeatedly held WOT roll-ons and quick shifts in various gears w/o slippage.
I was very impressed with the acceleration at highway speeds!

5th gear is the new 3rd

Let's see, Rowland, 2-3 at the 60' with 3-4 shortly thereafter, 4-5 around the 1/8 marker, but I might be able to wind out 4th with high-RPM fueling... wow, 2 gear changes would be neat!

Mental Picture.....
Reporter - "why did you close the hwy, officer Opie"
Opie - "Well, you see, we had long tire marks... and all this pipe scattered over a 1/4 mile stretch, and...."

Mike - How about winding out second and going 2 to 4. One shift would be very cool Have you tried starting in third? As I'm sure you are aware, 'Banshee', the fastest 3rd gen shifter in the east ..... starts in third??

I tried a 3rd gear launch in Ardmore - that was the first time the clutch smoked!

Without the ability to powershift, I'm afraid the 2-4 RPM drop would have to re-spool the turbo too much - but it's a good idea to try.

With a SB dual-disc, I know 3rd gear at 2500 would be the way to launch; with F-1 springs and high-RPM fueling, I bet 5th could take me through the 1/4 traps.

Hey BrIan how long did your bulb last before it went out. Debating on whether or not to pay the $400 for the extended warranty. I have 30 days to decide...

Im back from the Ouachita National Forest/Albert's Pike area of Arkansas. The beauty of our country never ceases to amaze me. We had no cell phone service for a week.......no electrical hook ups.....no water hookups. Just Cummins Pulling power......a 2004 Weekend Warrior Toyhauler loaded with water and fuel.....2 ATVs...and a Honda generator. Surrounded by one of the most beautiful forests in the world.....streams everywhere, 300ft deep swimming holes, cascading rocky water falls......ATV trails....abundant wildlife. What better vacation can you take than that?????!!!!!! Breathtakingly beautiful! The pictures really don't do it justice!

Needless to say.....We had a great time. I think there was 12 of us in all, but only about 8 riding ATVs. We rode about 150 miles total according to my Brute Force trip odometer. Spent one whole day canoeing down the Oachita River in the rain, but it didn't matter because we were wet from swimming in it anyway. It was a great way to spend Father's Day with my son. I was so proud of how well Jared kept up with the group even with his 2 wheel drive Bayou 250.

It was very hard for me to come back home!!!

Reality has set back in and gotta get back to work!

Anybody up for a N. Texas DTR meet in the Ouachita National Forest??

Whew, may have to sell the truck to get some extra $$... Just bought myself one of those springy trans to engine attachment thingys... Anybody want to buy a used grabby LUK??

PS got the 3250... Peter told me that he has guys running over 650hp on this thing with zero prolems. SO way more than what I am at and I get a beautiful towing/driving clutch that I hopefully never have to worry about!!...

Congrats! That must feel same as a new DTT to us auto guys!
BUT...did he say how it will shift in the 1/4 mile? I know, I know....not your main interest... but that's just cause you haven't tried it yet!

Actually, have heard they work well at the track!
Starting out in third...anytime you want... cool.
