How to remove the mid folding seat/console top ?

My middle console lid has a large "dip" due to previous owner always driving with his elbow on same spot.

I need to replace the lid, not the whole console, since I have here a wrecked 2001 with excellent top but, I just bought a smoothie cup-holder (awesome) for 94-97 and cannot swap the whole thing or I'll have to buy another holder.

Anybody has done this ?

Times like this are why the Factory service manual is worth its weight in gold.

From my factory manual.........

Console Lid

Removal
(1) Open Console Lid

(2) Using small flat blade screwdriver, disengage locking tabs located under lid trim bezel.

(3) Separate bezel from lid.

(4) Move driver and passenger seat to full forward position.

(5) Using small drift and hammer, tap out console lid hinge pin.

(6) Separate lid from console.

Installation

(1) Align console lid with console. Verify lid tension spring is in position.

(2) Install hinge pin.

(3) Position trim bezel on lid and snap into place.
