So x-mas is coming and the old lady asked what I wanted for my truck. I'm looking at gettting newera 370's, some lazer cut DV's(or 191's if you'll talk me out of the lazers), and a turbo. Heres my question's 1. Which single turbo would you recommend for me with the stuff on the x-mas list? I'm not gonna be pulling anything more than my car (3400lb), maybe twice a year at the track to race the truck, will not be doing any sled pulling, and I do have a heavy foot and seem to play with anybody that whats to on the street. Question 2. Whats the big deal with lazer DV's, some people seem to dislike, why?

Well I like my turbo it makes great power not to sure how it will work towing though? Not to sure how your trany will like it either??As far as Lazers go I have no real experiance but from what I have heard they are extreamly smokey and Hot and really are not a street D-valve I would go with a 191 or a nice custom cut. As far as having a heavy foot goes you will need one if you decide to go with a 62ss just to keep it spooling it's kind of like a small block with a big cam in that aspect!!

Laser cuts are all smoke and heat, and no real increase in power, from what I read.

Guys have taken 181 DVs to well over 600hp, so why are you DV shopping?

Don't you have a 180 truck already? Good pump, no?

Laser cuts are a ton of smoke and heat, I won't disagree there, but they do increase power. I recently put back in the 181's and it is a plain as day difference in power. The problem is that LC's never clean up.

Not real sure I want to stick my neck out here, but from my experence that's not useable power.

I think what you should be spending money on is auto transmission mods. Just a fuel plate will slip these tranny's. The stuff you are doing would murder one!

If you're dead set on dv's, then 191's are the better choice.
I've run the lazer cuts, they're miserable.

Me and a buddy built two identical year 2500 trucks, same clutch, same injectors, cam, turbos, pumps... the setup, tires, gears and everything identicle, except one had 191's and the other had lazer cuts. And the 191 equipped truck made alot more power and drove better.

get a sliver bullet 62 or 64 it should cool whatever fuel you have down and the 62 is good for 650rwhp or you could buy what im buying in a few months and go form a stock turbo to a silver bullet 64 that can support up to 700rwhp i figure after i do the ddp stage 4's stud the head, o-ring it, add the silver bullet 64 and a full billet suncoast and some piers custom taper delivery valves i'll be able smoke vette's and most anything else i see on the streets. oh btw ask your old lady for some piers custom taper delivery valves they should be fun. they flow more fuel than laser cuts less smoke with everyday driving but when put the pedal to the metal they smoke a lot only thing is the 230 + 200 core charge.

Suck's to be you. I think this year she's trying to outdo me with gift's. I've won hands down all others years. This is the only time that losing isn't bad.

Thought I might clear this up...My tapper cuts flow the same or more than 191's (depending on what the customer wants) with less bottom end smoke than the 191's or Super High Flows (laser cuts) which makes for a nice streetable set of DV's that can flow big fuel when you want, by just putting your right foot to the floor.

so if someone was to order a set they would have to tell you how much they want them to flow? i thought i did a pretty good job saying that.

Sorry, no. It is only a option if some one wanted something half way in between 191's and laser cuts, without the drivability issues of a set of 022's.
