Yes, Smarty questions again.

Whats up guys.

So ive played with a Smarty a few times and undestand how to work it and settings and all.

My questions are about the down loads.
Im not a very computer savy guy so Im askin you all.

My computer runs off the new windows 7. But eveything on here.. http://madselectronics.com/DownloadS03A.html says for XP and Vista or older windows 98 and 2000.

What all do I need to down load for my computer to be able to down load new stuff fom MADS.
Is it the stuff under TOOLS at the bottom? And which one(s)?
USB driver?
7ZIP?

Any help is very much appreciated.

Howdy, I hope this helps:

For a Windows & machine, your Smarty should appear when you plug it into USB (Windows will automatically load the drivers so it can "talk" to it).

Once that happens, you'll only need two pieces of software: the smarty.exe, and the actually calibration file.

Withe Smarty connected, run the "smarty.exe" file. When it opens up, you can use that to "send" the calibration file to the Smarty.

Having windows 7 is an advantage here. On the older Windows versions, you'll actually need to manually install the smarty drivers so the OS can "See" the unit connect to USB. This is where things can get a little more complicated. In my case, I don't have admin rights on the only PC I have access to, hence, I cannot update my Smarty.

So, the "driver" parts are only available (and only needed) for XP and older versions. With your newer version, just plug it in, let the computer recognize it and automatically load drivers, then launch smarty.exe and "send" the SW to your unit. DONE!

Awesome! Thats helps alot actually. Didnt know I could just plug it in and it'd start, thought I had to down load something first.
I was just readin up on the MADS site, and saw that I already have REVO on my Smarty, (didnt know those 'adjustment options' is what REVO is) and lookin at the other downloadable stuff, I dont think I need any of the other stuff.

SO, Can I just run my Smarty how it is with no need to update periodically?
A Smarty doesnt NEED to be updated somewhat regularly does it?
Only if a new progam comes out that I wanna try it huh.
