Hey guys,

What kinda boost are you guys seeing with setups similar to mine?
I have the boost elbow adjusted in as far as it will go. I am only seeing 26-28 psi on the highest setting. I just have the tune that comes loaded on the box. I was expecting more boost. I will be downloading a more aggressive tune when I get a chance. Love the box, just want to wring every last bit of performance out of it.

If the EGT's are staying cool, which I'm assuming they are with your setup, then you don't need more boost. You don't want to try to squeeze much more than that out of the stock turbo.

your kidding right?

This is a really mild setup. I am just wondering if thats all the fuel I have, or if there is something going on with the boost elbow. I mean, others have said they get 30-34 with practically the same setup if I recall correctly.

Chime in guys!
Thanks
Josh

How should the boost elbow be adjusted? Do most of you just screw it all the way in?

WIth the stock elbow? You mean the one that came on the truck, with no adjustment, that should let your wastegate open at the factory setting? YOu can hit 29-32, now I really dont get it! I have a TST boost elbow, screwed all the way in, an I might have hit 26-27psi. I thought with the XZT+ AND injectors, AND and airdog i would have plenty of fuel!

I've got the same setup as you. AirDog, RV275's and XZT+... Now after you laughed at me, I'm still trying to help you out for some reason. You may realize after looking at my sig that I am no random idiot... I'll ask the question again. WHY do you want more boost? It does nothing except keep EGT's down, and if you don't have an EGT issue, then leave it alone! The stock turbo is somewhat of a time-bomb over 30psi. And I'm well aware that it's a mild setup, that's why you don't need more boost!

Nobody is assuming you are a random idiot, so dont get so riled up. Its not more BOOST that i want, Fuel = boost, we know that, I just expected more fuel. I have just been doing a lot of reading on here before I bought all these parts and everyone with similar setups have claimed 30+ psi. So I was thinking i should have more fuel. Or worse case scenario, I'M an idiot and cant operate a boost elbow right!. Thats all i was wondering.

I was referring to adjusting an adjustible boost elbow. Do most people just screw the set screw all the way in?

From: My head lays down in Murrieta, but the day light hours are spent in San Diego, Ca.
Take a look at my sig. With just the XZT+ my boost only hits a high of 30 PSI. But if I turn on the Xzillaraider even only on PL01, then I can get to 34 - 35 PSI. Now that being said, my EGT's get hot fast. Real fast when on PL02 or PL03. The stock HX35 turbo just doesn't do much over 30 - 32 PSI. The few extra pounds from 32 to 35 PSI really don't give you any performance benefit. So if you're seeing 30 PSI and your EGT's are on the cool side, I'd say there is nothing wrong.

EDIT: I just seen where you state you're only seeing 26 to 28 PSI with the factory tune. That does sound about right. I really can't remember, it's been a very long time since I ran the factory tune. Anyways try out one of the Aggressive tunes. You should see your boost levels closer to 30 PSI.

Yes, w/an adj boost elbow you screw it all the way in to eliminate the wastegate from opening. Double check your gauge and/or connections to ensure the readings are correct.

Your gonna want the wastegate to open at some point. I'd download one of the aggressive tunes for sure and start playing with your boost elbow then! You should be happy with the amount of fuel.

Thanks everybody who replied.

Thats kinda what i was hoping, that I just needed to get the more aggressive tune.

I am just used to the ole 12 valve I guess, Where boost is just kinda instanstaneous once spooled.
