Will my clutch last with this mild combo?

Will my clutch last with this mild combo?

I plan on ordering a 4" exhaust this week, along with a Edge Comp box and K&N Air intake. Am I going to smoke the clutch in a short while with this combination or will I be safe? I heard from a friend that I'd probably be safe with the comp box unless I threw some injectors in. I'm new to this Cummins thing...Upgraded from an old IDI Ford..

Are there any better air filter setups than the K&N?

Con... it depends on the clutch... you should be OK, with just the box.. I went about 65k with just the comp.. and another 35K with the Comp and DDIII's on the stock clutch... but I didn't push it too hard with the injectors.. at 145K when I pulled the clutch.. it really didn't look bad.. just wouldn't hold the HP... But once its start slipping its usually down hill from there..

Well, most people would recommend a BHAF (Big Honkin Air Filter) over K&N. K&N's just don't filter as good as the paper filters, and they cost just as much, and they don't really last as long, and you have that oily snot to deal with. Do a search on BHAF, or look under "Parts Numbers" in the FAQ for the filter to get from NAPA. (Granted, that does take some modification, but if you can install a 4-in exhaust than you can do an intake...)

As for the clutch; it should be fine at the lower levels as long you baby it. Although I have no experiance at all with that issue and I really don't know what I'm talking about. (I figure I'll just say something conservative... )

I have had no problems with my clutch. I tow over five and half tons at times. I have at least 40,000 miles with this current combo.
