Will this cause High E.G.T's

Will this combo cause high egt's,80hp injectors.VA box, straight piped stock exhaust,14 inch K&N cone filter, and boost set at 28psi.The truck is only used to pull a car trailer with a load weight of 6000 pounds.I just want a good running truck but I don't want to have an eye on the gauges all the time. :-

Maybe, maybe not. I'm thinkin' that the clutch bails before the EGT's get out of hand

i would say yes. your egt's will creep up real quick w/ that combo...just gotta keep your eye on it..w/ the box and the injectors u should look into a scotty air system w/ both the air inlets, i also need to do this and im not running injectors as of yet.

Well if the 80hp. injectors are going cause high temps. then would the 60hp cause the same thing or do I need to stick to the 275RV injectors. ???

Re:Will this cause High E.G.T's

what do u mean by high egt's? mine will hit 1100 quick w/ just an aggressive fueling box..just so i understand. I dont think 60 to 80 HP will really make a big difference on egt's...again, a scotty system will probably do the trick though

I just want a good combo thats not going to peg 1300 when you put your foot into or pulling aload.I'am not looking to build a race car out of this truck that's what my car is for.

TE-44...I see you have the 2002, 5spd...but, anything you do to it could very well cause high EGTs, especially on a grade and towing.

Some of the '01 HOs reported high EGTs just with the stock stuff! Gauges are a cheap way to give yourself some insurance, and you would learn quickly when you have to watch them and when not.

I would say get the gauges!

TE-44..

See my sig..Pulling my twin axle box race trailer, I can hit 1200 degrees on level 3, so thats where I leave it..If I were to use levels 4-9, the EGT's will jump about a 100 degrees for each level above 3..So, I just keep the power turned down, and that keeps the EGT's under control. You will see an increase in EGT's..I have a PDR HX-35 hybrid that does a reasonable job of keeping it cool. I would think you would have to get more turbo with 80hp injectors & a VA box. Espically if you're towing

Re:Will this cause High E.G.T's

Go for it man!

Just pay attention to the EGT gauge when pulling long hills and you should be fine. 8) I run 100hp injectors and lot's of fuel and still tow anything I want, you just have to watch the gauges when you get to working the engine.

If you are skeered to run the big nozzels go with some 275's and you won't have to worry, I run those for 3 years with a PM 2 and never had any EGT problems.

The 100hp injectors would be nice but I'am not ready to install a larger turbo,5inch exhaust,or a new clutch.Like I said I'am just looking for some seat of the pants power without doing gauge watching when running the truck.Would I just be better off getting a EDGE COMP box and be done, but the only thing that bothers me is tapping the pump wire. ???

Re:Will this cause High E.G.T's

Really, I think the combo you stated would be just fine. You will still want to glance at the EGT gauge every-now-and-then but that should give you pretty good power to haul the car around with.

Word of advise though, this is just the beginning. I started off just like you are and I'm in it deep now. ;D I'm still running the stock turbo and exhaust with those 100hp injectors by the way.

Good Luck
