Wildcat Max Fuel System
Wildcat Max Fuel System
I was just wondering if anyone has been running this system on their truck instead of a pusher pump. I have a carter 7psi sitting in a box and was going to install it but I heard about this system and I would rather use it instead of another pump to avoid noise, reliability issues, etc. Any feedback would be appriciated.

I installed this system on a friends 2001 with a TST PowerMax w/ remote and DD II's. With this combination it would draw stock lift pump pressure down to 5 lbs. After the install he can not draw it down below 10lbs. And this is with the stock lift pump.
This system works...I know..I have seen what it does...The fittings are heavy..the whole system is top notch.

Re:Wildcat Max Fuel System
With Rods fuel kit I use the stock lift pump and can still maintain 9psi at over 500hp. I have also kept the same fuel pressures since installing the new lift pump in Nov. so it probably keeps the stock pump alive a lot longer as a side benefit. Tim

Not to knock anybody, but...
what about the FASS deal? ??? ???

The FASS system looks like a sweetheart, and is being thoroughly rung out right now, but is also not needed below 400 HP. There are no power or throttle-response gains to be had with fuel pressure above 8 PSI at wide open throttle, so the line kit is 1/4 the cost and does the job just fine ;D
Once we get over 400 HP, then its another ball of goop. We've found that if we can keep WOT pressures above 13 PSI, then throttle response is improved. So, while our line kit does appear to be working above 400 HP, there is some extra to be had with a good pump that will maintain 15 PSI at all times. We're still hoping the PE4200 will come to pass, as I believe its a better system (using the factory fuel filter is, in my mind, a very desirable option).
